BRIGHTON PHOTO FESTIVAL 2011!

Ok… Its May, you’re in Brighton, all the Fringe festival stuff is going on. It’s vibrant, creative and fun. There is so much to see and do with events happening left, right and centre. You might be a professional or aspiring photographer, maybe just someone who enjoys taking photos and you can’t believe that amidst all this huge creative festival there is LOADS to take photos of, so much to capture and explore with your camera, but nothing that caters to you personally as a lover of photography… ENTER Brighton Photography Festival 2011! The festival will be an entire weekend (14th and 15th of May if you must know) devoted to photography. Hosted by Eclectia gallery and studio, in partnership with Brighton Marina, we are taking over the legendary marina square and filling it with photographic retailers, manufacturers, competitions, entertainment, a live stage with talks, demo’s, guest speakers, professional studio for you to try your hand at studio lighting and much, much more. There are some great names lined up for talks and demos on the live stage, book signings, entertainment and really fantastic things from top photographic manufacturers for you to get your hands on and play with…. We had a fantastic start to Brighton Photo Festival today and wanted to do a little post to just say a MASSIVE thankyou to all of our exhibitors, speakers, and of course our lovely visitors for making it such an awesome first day for a brand new event. On top of our great line up of festival exhibitors we had a busy first day on the live stage with a live demo from onOne software that you all got really involved with, personally i didnt get to see much of it which is a shame as i believe Bob was doing a demo of the great new perfect layers for lightroom plug in. What would you do if something happened to your precious kit? Lots of people rely on their home contents insurance, but have you looked into it, would you be covered? The Flash Centre at BtonPhotoFest

As a brand new event, Brighton Photo Festival would like to thank The Flash Centre (TFC) for it’s involvement and the support provided since the conception of the idea of the festival. On both the Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May, TFC will be running demonstrations on the stage showing-off lighting techniques and demonstrating the basics with lovely Elinchrom Lights and accessories. At their stand you can order a range of equipment and talk about your needs with the TFC representatives. TFC will also be running mini-workshops for FREE all day in the Eclectia gallery and Studio. Located on Mermaid walk in Brighton marina, only a minutes walk from the main festival area, Eclectia Gallery and Studio is a purely photographic venture that showcases local photographers.
